A white smile is nice any time. It’s especially important during the holidays, when your calendar likely includes more get-togethers. So now is a good time to take advantage of our whitening special for 30 percent off treatments – $250 for an in-office treatment or $179 for a take-home kit. Once your smile looks bright, you want to keep teeth white as long as possible.
Fortunately, it’s not too tough. Check out our tips here. If you want to take advantage of our whitening special, or schedule a teeth cleaning or other service, call Butte Family Dental at 406-565-4458 today.
To maintain a white smile:
- Avoid Staining Substances – Lots of things can stain teeth, including coffee, red wine, dark berries, and tomato sauce. Avoid them when you can. For instance, choose pumpkin pie instead of blueberry. Use a straw, when possible, to drink dark liquids like soda. Rinse your mouth periodically with water if you’re eating something like pasta with red sauce. And rinse your mouth out after you’re done.
- Brush Every Day – We know, you probably get tired of us telling you to brush every day. But it really is the best way to keep your smile looking and feeling great. It removes surface staining that can make your teeth look dingy. It also lessens your risk of cavities and gum disease. Brush twice a day, for two minutes each time. Go ahead and floss once a day, too.
- Be Careful How You Brush – Never use a toothbrush with hard bristles. They can cause tooth enamel to wear away, especially if you scrub too hard. If your enamel gets thin, you’ll be able to see the dentin, a yellow layer found between the enamel and pulp. Always use a gentle touch with a soft-bristled brush. An electric toothbrush can help you apply gentle, even pressure.
- Keep Regular Dental Cleaning Appointments – During a professional dental cleaning, we use special equipment and solutions to remove surface stains. We also remove plaque and bacteria from areas that are hard to clean at home, which improves your overall oral health. Schedule cleanings at least twice a year to keep teeth white. And consider seeing us more often for an even whiter and healthier smile.
