So I mean I had pretty just bad genetically teeth. So I’ve had a couple root canals, lots of caps, lots of cavities, lots of fillings. And my teeth weren’t really, they weren’t bad but they weren’t straight and they just, I’m always looking at people’s smiles. So I always wanted veneers or caps or something, just a better smile. So coming in here, I came in, Dr. McIntyre installed my implant for me and we just got to talking about some other options as far as cosmetic dental work. So we kind of talked over the Six Month Smile stuff. I didn’t know if I needed braces at first or not. My teeth weren’t terribly crooked but they were more crooked than I wanted them to be. So I didn’t know if we could just fix that with caps or veneers and he suggested the Six Month Smile which I thought was a good compromise for having to do adult braces. I could handle six months of braces. We did the Six Month Smile with that and then we talked about veneers. He suggested that for longevity, we’d probably be better off with cap on my teeth and we talked about just doing the front four and I wanted big giant white horse teeth and he told me that that probably was not gonna fit my face that well. So he got some samples out and kind of showed me like the size of teeth and the color and all of that. You know, you have unrealistic expectations of what you want for yourself and it’s a good thing Dr. McIntyre tells you what’s gonna look better in the end because yeah, they turned out great. I couldn’t be happier. I take every opportunity I can to show off my new teeth so it’s exactly what I wanted. They turned out, I’m glad I didn’t get the big white horse teeth like I wanted because these ones, they just kind of fit my mouth and my face and they’re perfect. I get compliments on them constantly.

The implant I had at Butte Family Dental is the second of two implants that I’ve had during my adult life. And it’s interesting, from the first implant I had, which was in the 1990s, early 2000s, I can’t exactly remember, versus the one I had in 2015 here, is that the technology has improved immensely. Butte Family Dental uses the most up-to-date technology, up-to-date dental practice in performing implants. The procedure involves several visits, and you have to care for your mouth in the interim stages. But I was always comfortable. I never experienced any pain.
The procedure is one where the area is cleaned, and then you get a temporary solution, and then a final solution, final implant. And once that’s been placed, it’s like you’ve always had that tooth. So you feel really like there’s no problem with having something foreign in your mouth. It really is a very wonderful way to maintain your dental health, to keep your smile or restore your smile, and address problems with a tooth either that has gone beyond the point of being able to be repaired or, in my case, where I had a baby tooth that never fell out.
I had some, not sensitivity, but some weird feeling, but there wasn’t, it didn’t show anything wrong. And then we realized it was cracked down below, and I grind my teeth really bad. It took a while, because you couldn’t see it. It was down below the gum line, and it didn’t show in the x-ray. But once they figured it out, it was pretty easy. They were great, and they’re very flexible. You know, because it is like, once you get the bone graft, and it’s months, and so you can’t always just come in. So you can come in a month later, or two weeks later, whenever it works for you, or whenever my job has flex benefits. So, you know, certain times of the year, it starts over, so it was just very, they’re very easy to work with. Great. I will probably have another one. I cracked another tooth up on the other side that, and I don’t have any real fears about doing that. Because it was easy, and it’s not really painful. There’s a lot of pressure and noise when they work on it, but not pain.
You know, I had a big phobia of dentist’s office before coming here, but this place really took care of me and helped me with all my anxieties. So instead of putting off another seven years of going to the dentist, I finally got the work done that really needed to get done. I guess what makes it the most comfortable is that they give you everything you need in order to feel okay with the work being done. They describe it in advance, are just super helpful and nice people.
